Weekly Favorites + Weekend Sales!

May 22, 2015

Weekly Favorites + Weekend Sales, Nordstrom Sale Happy long weekend! Monday is Memorial Day so there are lot’s of sales going on! I’ve been looking through the Nordstrom Half Yearly Sale and adding things to my cart as I go.

I like dressing in layers so when I saw this sleeveless vest (on sale for$34) I thought it would be a perfect layering piece for summer. I’ve also been on the hunt for a new pair of jeans and found these on sale for $39. The color is a lot lighter than I normally wear but for the price, I could just use them for when I want to switch things up a little from my norm. J.Crew is also having a sale this weekend with 30% off. This white short-sleeve top ($54) caught my eye!

Other sales going on this weekend:

Old Navy – Up to 50% off everything

ASOS – 20% off. I’m thinking about this dress, and this dress for an upcoming event I’m attending, but I’m also loving this summer dress

BCBG – 30% off.

Bauble Bar – 20% off.

Loft – 40% off. I like this eyelet blouse

Jamberry Nails

May 21, 2015

So Jamberry Nails are wraps for your nails that come in all kinds of colors, and patterns. It’s basically a nail adhesive that you apply using a little bit of heat! This is perfect for those of us that want to get a quick and super easy nail color at home.

I usually wear the Sally Hansen nail strips, or the ones from Sephora,  because it is just so much easier than using polish, and also the nail strips don’t chip nearly as quick as polish. When I was told about the Jamberry Nail wraps, of course I was interested since it was right up my alley.

Pros:

– The wrap itself is pretty sturdy. For example it didn’t tear while I filed it down to fit my nail!

– They went on smoothly! No wrinkling or bubbling.

– Durable. They last for days without chipping or peeling! They key is to make sure you warm up the adhesive enough so that it sticks all the way to your nail.

Cons:

– You need to heat them up before applying. I know it’s not that big of a deal, but the fact that I had to get my hairdryer out to apply these was a little of a pain. I like the fact that I can apply other nail wraps basically anywhere I am, without needing a heat source.

New in Beauty

 1. Anastasia Beverly Hills Artist Palette – One of the many eye palettes I have been eyeing lately! I have yet to try any eye shadows by Anastasia Beverly Hills and this one has a nice combo of bright and dark colors. This one is definitely at the top of my future purchases list!

2. Makeup For Ever Artist Palette Vol 2 – This has a gorgeous set of colors like that middle blue color, the orange one next to it, and the dark green one on the bottom row! You also get some nice shimmery neutrals on the top row.

3. Fresh Skin Booster Oil – It’s no secret I love my Fresh face products so when I saw this new antioxidant face oil, I was intrigued. You can add it daily to your face or eye cream for an added boost of protection from free radicals.

4. It Cosmetics Bronzing Cream – Another brand I use daily is It Cosmetics, especially the CC+ cream. They just released this CC+ bronzing cream which seems perfect for summer time to get that healthy sun kissed glow. I think this would come in handy on those days where you just want to go for a natural look but still cover up imperfections. Of course, it also has SPF to protect your skin from the hot summer sun!

5. ColourPop Cosmetics Mondays in Malibu – I just recently tried my first ColourPop eyeshadows but they were all matte finishes. This set has 6 shadows with a shimmery finish for a summer glow straight from Malibu.

6. MAC Wash & Dry Collection – Another collection all about that summer glow. This collection includes lipsticks, shadows, liners, face powders, brushes and more. It’s hard to pick just one!

7. Too Faced Sugar Pop Palette – Another palette that was at the top of my list to purchase was this one. I just loved the violet, teal, and orange shades.

8 Cover FX Cover Drops – I have been hearing so much about these drops. You mix them into any foundation, tinted moisturizer, or skincare product to create your preferred level of coverage every time.

The look for less: Scalloped Swimsuit

May 14, 2015

I’ve been seeing quite a bit of these Marysia scalloped swimsuits around ever since the temperatures started to warm up this spring. The suit, that comes in different cuts like a one-piece, and a bikini, caught my eye thanks to the cute scalloped trim (I love this bandeau style). Unfortunately though, the price is a little steep for what I would want to spend on a swimsuit. I prefer to spend a little less and be able to buy a couple more suits!

While searching around the web for this summer swimsuits post,  I actually found a very similar style to this but for much, much, less! It’s from Target and it retails for $45 (also comes in hot pink). Like I said, I personally don’t mind spending less on swimsuits since I basically use them for lounging by the pool or just floating around the water once I get too hot. Of course if I were to use it for something like doing laps around a pool, or anything more active like that then I would definitely want to make sure I have a nice, supportive, fabric and fit. But for lounging, this will do!
